Virgin Captain – Thursday 29 March 2007

Wesley got an email early in the week from a visiting hasher. He contacted Wesley as GM – apparently loads of people email the GM of whichever Hash they want to go to asking for information etc.

This guy captains a yacht around the world for its owner – nice life! He’s been all over sailing different boats. At the moment he and his girlfriend (captain and first mate), the boat owner, his wife and baby are sailing around near Africa. So he parked the yacht at el Goona (so not spelt right but its not like any of you know where it is anyway)! And the owner etc flew home to the states for a holiday – imaging that – taking a month off from sailing round the world so you can have a holiday on dry land!

Virgin Captain and his girlfriend are going back to the states (Florida I think) for a holiday. His girlfriend has already gone back but he emailed Wesley to see when the hash was, where to stay etc. After a bit of back and forth we worked out that he’d get into Ma’adi on Thursday night so Wesley offered for him to stay with us. We all went out to Max’s for dinner tonight and tomorrow he’s going with Wesley to lay the trail.

He was good fun. He’s hoping to call back in on his way to pick up the boat. So in a months time when he comes back to get the boat he’s going to time it so he and his girlfriend are here for a weekend an he can hash and she can sight see.

He’s hashed all over the world – got his has name when he was captaining a ship around the Virgin Islands.
